Dirt

Dirt

Today I was listening to the song Dirt by Florida Georgia Line. I absolutely love country music, its all I even listen to so a song like this naturally became my favorite. I think my favorite line is "You know you came from it and someday you'll return to it." I believe that I fell in love with this line because it comes straight from the Bible. God created man from His breath and dirt. "You know you came from it...and someday, you'll return to it." This line is really powerful, it tells me that each day I need to live to the fullest, that this lifetime is not forever. We have such little time here on earth before we return to what we once where. "Its that elm shade red roads clay you grew up on that plowed up ground that your dad damned his luck on that post game party field you circled up on And when it rains you get stuck on"This song is very special to me because I am a farmer. My life is in the dirt which we walk upon. Whether rain, snow or hail, my father and I are out there, working with dirt. My dad always said that dirt is what keeps us alive. Without dirt we wouldn't have grass to fatten the cattle we eat, without dirt we couldn't grow corn or beans, without dirt we couldn't breath. We take the small things in life for granted when we should be thanking the Creator for dirt. "You know you came from it...and someday, you'll return to it."
